Off to new movie "Bill Cunningham in New York" about one of the first ever "bloggers" you could say.  Very very excited about seeing it!  Fashion & New York - wow!
Thanks to Helena for inviting me or I wouldn't have known about it (doesn't say much for me!).
So, I thought I would dress appropriately with my (poor) take on Chanel! This is my first time wearing this cardigan which I bought in Penneys last year and couldn't really muster the courage to wear it.
But dressed down with jeans and a simple black blouse I think it looks ok.
I realise now I should always use both hands when taking pictures so I'm sorry about the poor quality of some of these.

I'm very excited today!  U Magazine kindly put me into their latest issue under their "Fashion Diary - 10 outfits in 10 days" section.

Thank you so much to Deanna O'Connor, their Deputy Editor who couldn't have been nicer to me.

I'm a big fan of U magazine because:

• it's only €1,50
• all their fashion is really current and available
• it comes out twice a month
• it's got lots of unpretentious fashion in it 
• unlike alot of UK mags they show clothes that you can currently buy in Irish stores
• the clothes are affordable unlike other mags
• readers can review products for them
• their "7 Day Wardrobe" shows you how to mix & match a few key pieces to create 7 new looks (love this!)
• they have a whole section on affordable beauty products and make-up (another one of my obsessions)
• they've a section on the Home
• they write about stuff that readers are actually interested in

I've gone from really liking dresses and skirts back to trousers and jeans.  I'm sure I'll go back to dresses again at some point - I get bored quickly!
It's hard to know what to wear with these gorgeous winter/spring days so layering is important for me. I don't like being too hot or cold so it's good to be able to take stuff off if you need to. 
This check shirt from H&M is quite warm so I'm not sure it's going to work in summer but it's perfect with a warmish coat and scarf.

Cardigan - A-Wear

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures over the weekend because I spent most of it in shorts walking on the beach with my dog Penny.

So, here's an outfit from earlier in the week when it wasn't as hot as it is at the moment!

This dress from Topshop is lovely. I love the colour, the shape and the length.  It doesn't have sleeves but I think it would work really well with a top underneath it.  With this outfit I just paired it with a simple black cardigan.

I'd been looking for a cape-style coat for ages but they can be so expensive so when I saw this in Penneys I had to have it. It's such a gorgeous colour that works really well with skinny jeans - blue or black. 

I'm sorry about the last picture which is very bright but I didn't take alot of pictures of this outfit unfortunately.

Trip to Ikea

My mom has discovered Ikea and loves it. So, this was a comfortable outfit for a trip to Ikea with her.
These are my favourite jeans at the moment because they're cropped so work really well with ankle boots. I bought them a few years ago and of course Topshop no longer have them.  You get a good few wears out of them before they start to get knees in them.
I got this bag in Debenhams in the sale and I love it. I've never had a "patterned" bag before but it really goes with any outfit.

This dress has been sitting in my wardrobe for around 3 years.  It has lace on it and a pink underskirt so I used to think it was too "smart" to wear as an everyday dress. But teamed with a casual jacket I think it works. 


I love the white with the rusty coloured cardigan too. I think it would look nice with a black cardigan too and to smarten it up a bit I can team it with some heels.


I will be wearing this dress again and again.

Wearing sunglasses makes me feel like I'm trying to be a celebrity! But, the sun was so strong the day I took these pictures that I had to wear them. 

This skirt is lovely. It's a great stretchy material but is quite thick so doesn't creep up or anything. 

This Zara jumper is enormous (that's the style I believe) and I never know what to wear it with. I'll have to google "how to wear an oversized jumper). 

I think the teal scarf makes me look less like a bumble bee...

I thought I'd try taking a picture of myself in a mirror to see how it would come out.  I really do need to get a tripod but carrying one around with me all the time would make me look like an idiot. I've also realised I look a bit confused in the first picture but I didn't get to take alot of pictures that day because I was on a very busy street and was embarrassed so these will have to do!

I really like these jeans because they're just above the ankles so work well with ankle boots. But I got them years ago in Topshop when skinny jeans were just coming out and I haven't been able to get another pair since. 

I really do love stripes too. This top is cream and black which you can't really see in the picture but it's something different to the usual navy and white / black and white at least.

This coat is about seven years old but I can't part with it. I love yellow and this coat is great for spring as it still keeps you quite warm. I think yellow works well with black and white stripes.

I think I should've worn less shiny tights but I think the bright sun has alot to do with their shine!

I've had this dress from Topshop for years. I got it taken up a few months ago as it was a bit too long. I love getting things altered - you feel like you have a new outfit but your wallet doesn't feel any lighter.

I've had the jacket ages but I tend to only wear it with jeans so decided to try it with a dress and I think it works. It adds a bit of edginess to the outfit maybe?

These boots are lovely with dresses or jeans.  The only problem is they're suede which is hard to look after. But, I wore them the other night and someone spilt a drink on them and they're fine so maybe I'm wrong about suede.
